Yes. Most LASIK lasers are approved by the U.S. FDA for the correction of up to 6 diopters (D) of hyperopia (farsightedness). The actual amount of farsightedness that can be corrected will depend on variables specific to your eyes, including the curvature and thickness of your cornea. These issues will be discussed with you at your pre-operative eye exam and LASIK consultation.
For higher amounts of hyperopia, there are refractive surgery procedures that are alternatives to LASIK, such as phakic IOL implantation and clear lens extraction.
