Barry Basden, O.D. is a lifelong resident of the Shoals area. He attended Deshler High School in Tuscumbia before receiving his undergraduate degree from Auburn University.
Dr. Basden received his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and began his optometric practice in Florence in September 1991.
In addition to providing primary eye and vision care, Dr. Basden offers pre-operative and post-operative care for patients interested in
LASIK and other types of refractive surgery. He also routinely fits patients with contact lenses, including bifocal lenses and special lenses to correct keratoconus and other problems.
Dr. Basden lives in Florence with his wife Kate and their two daughters, Madison and Megan.
