LASIK doctors are ophthalmologists who are licensed to perform refractive (vision-correcting) eye surgery. Most LASIK doctors are Doctors of Medicine (M.D.s), though some are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.s). Both are equally qualified to perform eye surgery and provide medical eye care.
