Will I be awake during the LASIK procedure?

Yes. Only a local (eye drop) anesthetic is needed to numb your eyes for LASIK surgery. If you wish, your LASIK surgeon will also give you a mild oral medication (e.g. Valium) to help you relax during the procedure.
